Carrick-on-Suir Website

With a population of almost 6,000, Carrick-on-Suir is described as a small town with a big heart. This heritage town centres around a pretty marina, integrating the river into the life of the town. It’s in the south east of the county, bordering Waterford and Kilkenny, and conveniently connected to Limerick and Waterford by road and rail.

Business and Shopping
The town centre comprises a healthy mix of national names and independent retailers, all of which continue to prosper and grow. Carrick-on-Suir has its own urban council.

Culture and History
Ormonde Castle is Carrick’s most famous historic site. It was the home of the Butler Family until it passed to state ownership mid-20th century. It’s now beautifully preserved and open to visitors. If you’re looking for cultural entertainment, attend an event by the well-known and award-winning Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society or make a visit to one of Carrick’s two local theatres.
